EOTC/Extra Activities

To complement the main learning areas, St Ignatius Catholic School provides a wide range of experiences and activities to foster children’s love of learning and love of life.

Swim Programme

All Students are tutored by specialist swimming tutors in Term 4, this runs at Swimtastic during school hours.

Performing Arts

There are many opportunities available for students to take part in performing arts groups, including the school choir, Jump Jam (including competitions) and Dance workshops in preparation for our big end-of-year concert.

School Camp

School camp is offered to Year 6 students each year. The camps are ‘Education Outside the Classroom’ programmes and seek to test communication, problem-solving, self-management, social cooperation and physical skills. School camp is up in Long bay at Camp Merc – https://merc.org.nz/

Speech Competition

Each year, students from Years 5 & 6 compete to represent the school at a speech competition held throughout the Auckland region.

Chess club

Every Monday chess club is on in Kai 1- this is provided by Chess Power: https://www.chesspower.co.nz/

SHINE drama

Shine Speech & Drama courses have been designed by Nina Burchett to empower and inspire children through spoken excellence. Shine courses help children learn effective speaking, reading aloud, public speaking, speech writing, poetry recital, vocal skills, body language and personal presentation. https://www.shine.school.nz/#inspire

Green Team/Enviro Team

Our Green team are experts at everything environmental. They are true greenies who are helping the environment each day by composting, planting, recycling and educating tāmariki and kaiako.

Cultural Team

Our cultural team is all about celebrating the many cultures in our school. They get together once a week to plan competitions, events and spreading the word on diversity and being inclusive.
